On this day course you will take your measurements and using that information pick out the correct pattern size from a commercial skirt pattern, make any alterations to the pattern that are needed and then cut the pattern out of your chosen fabric. You will then be taken through the steps needed to put the item together including finishing seams, putting in a zip and hemming the bottom.

It is recommended that you bring along your own sewing machine for this course but machines can be hired for £5 for the course, just select a ticket that includes machine hire. Free use and guidance will be given of an overlocker for finishing seams.

You will need to provide your own fabric and matching thread but fabric can be bought from my online store or on the day at a discounted rate of £5 per meter for any of the Cotton Poplin items and free thread will be provided for those purchasing fabric.

A commercial pattern and pattern paper will be provided, as well as written notes of the process and refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits).

Should you not finish your skirt on the day then guidance will be given at the end of the day as to how to finish the item alongside the written notes.
